If you were to ask our staff where we would want to go in 2019, we’d probably talk your ear off for hours.Whether it’s a secluded Caribbean escape, or an adventurous journey exploring somewhere new, give 2019 the thrill it deservers with one of our picks for the best places to visit in the new year.

+ St. Vincent & The Grenadines:

Because it’s true Caribbean at heart

When to Go:

May through June, as well as November

Why Now:

With a new airport on St. Vincent, which offers direct flights from New York and Miami, now is the perfect time to book a secluded escape to this under-the-radar destination. From pristine sandy beaches and lush green hillsides, to a variety of water activities and upcoming music festivals, Bequia has an activity waiting for all types of travelers. As for where to stay, look no further than the family-owned luxury resort, Bequia Beach Hotel, for an authentic Caribbean escape.

+ Puerto Rico

Because it’s the comeback kid, you’ll want to visit

When to Go:

Mid-April through June

Why Now:

Puerto Rico is back on the map following 2017’s damaging hurricanes and now more than ever is the time to visit. From tasting tours and the Bacardi Factory in Old San Juan to salsa dancing and some of the Caribbean’s most beautiful beaches, there’s plenty to do, see and eat. While you’re there, be sure to head over to El Yunque National Rainforest for a voluntourism experience or an afternoon hike with a lush tropical backdrop. Be sure to book your stay at Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Puerto Rico Golf & Beach Resort, where a variety of culinary restaurants await, in addition to the on-property casino.

+Bhutan

Because it’s where natural beauty and cultural authenticity align

When to Go:

March through May, as well as September through November

Why Now:

Bhutan still remains one of the world’s “unspoiled” destinations to date, managing to be the only country in the world that’s produced a negative carbon footprint. Its relatively untouched state has allowed for the destination to continue being a sweeping image of an ancient kingdom surrounded by endless evergreens and natural beauty.

For those looking to splurge on where to stay, Amankora’s five intimate lodges, spread out throughout the mountainous terrain, facilitate a kora, or a ‘circular journey’ of discovery through central and western Bhutan. Paired with elegant accommodations, exceptional cuisine and one-of-a-kind sightseeing and cultural encounters (including helicopter journeys, breakfast on Bhutan’s second highest peak, forest bathing experiences and seasonal poppy treks), a journey to Bhutan is a must for next year.

+ Azores, Portugal

Because there’s plenty of nature left to explore

When to Go:

Spring + Summer

Why Now:

While many have flocked to the nearby Portuguese capital of Lisbon, this unspoiled Portuguese archipelago still remains one of the Atlantic’s hidden gems. From crater lakes on São Miguel and volcanic thermal baths in Furnas, to unique marine life spotting and an abundance of nature to explore, there are plenty of reasons to add the Azores to your bucket list for next year. Added bonus: Delta started offering seasonal direct flights from JFK to Ponta Delgada this summer; Azores Airlines flies from Boston year-round.

+ Andaman Islands, India

Because the views from your personal villa never looked this good

When to Go:

May and September

Why Now:

While Phuket keeps getting swamped with tourist each year, it’s time to find a beach getaway that won’t be interrupted by an influx of people. As one of the world’s top diving destinations and home to a biodiversity hotspot in the Bay on Bengal, the Andaman Islands have plenty of reasons for you to visit next year.

For those looking to stay somewhere special, Taj Exotica Resort & Spa Andamans at Radhanagar Beach, offers guests 50 stand alone luxury villas nearby one of Asia’s best beaches, making it a must visit next year, before it goes viral on social media.
