After a year of uncertainty for the travel industry in 2020 and no clear vision for what was to come in 2021, Hilton Aruba sought to reignite the desire to escape to the “one happy island” of Aruba by inspiring wanderlust through the eyes of others.

With most Americans feeling uneasy about the return to travel, the task at hand wasn’t easy. It required creativity and mental persuasion to encourage Northeast travelers to feel safe to head back and explore, hence the launch of the “Aruba Awaits” campaign!

The goal was to bring business back to Hilton Aruba with organic social media and wanderlust-inspiring content to drive traction, which garnered great results and a resurgence of travel to the island.

 

Results: 

  • 12,808,980 organic social media impressions across channels (83.1% increase YOY) 

  • Bookings increased by 304% YOY 

  • 1,169,431 social media impressions through influencer collaborations (5,183% increase YOY)

  • 539,725 engagements (87.3% increase YOY) 

  • 14,513 link clicks to the website (7.7% increase YOY)

  • 11,289 new followers across Instagram, Facebook and Twitter (33.1% increase YOY)

  • Secured 11 targeted influencers (1,000% increase YOY)

  • Secured 30 posts, 275 IG stories, 65 stock photos from influencer collaborations to leverage on Hilton Aruba’s social media channels
